Nancy Jones

Nancy (Eskridge) Jones was born and raised in Oklahoma City. A majority of her adult years were spent in Arizona, where she came to know and love the Episcopal liturgy. Confirmed in the Episcopal Church in 1993, Nancy served on the Altar Guild and Vestry at St. Alban's Church in Wickenburg, AZ. Upon moving to Tucson in 2001, Nancy became an active member of St. Philip's in the Hills Church. She has a special interest in children and youth, as well as social justice, and spent many years as Chair of the Youth Council. She also served as the Chairperson for the Casa Maria Food Ministry for 4 years. In all of her service at St. Philip's, she was found ways to connect her work with the youth to the outreach ministries. In 2005 Nancy, along with three other women, chaperoned a trip to Guaymas, Mexico, with 10 young women to build an adobe house, work in the community kitchen and the community youth program. But, the highlight of her service on the Youth Council was in the planning, fundraising and chaperoning a pilgrimage to Taize, Canterbury Cathedral and Salisbury Cathedral with a dozen 15 to 16 year-old students. Nancy is a retired fundraising professional, and returned to Oklahoma in October 2020 to reconnect with her roots and enjoy her retirement with family and friends.
