At St. John's, Faith Formation is for children, youth, and adults who want to grow in their relationship with God, explore Scripture, ask meaningful questions, and build lasting friendships in a Christ-centered community. Whether you've been part of the Episcopal Church for years or are just beginning to explore your faith, there's a place for you.
Join us as we learn together, encourage one another, and seek to live out our baptismal promise to "continue in the apostles' teaching and fellowship." We offer the following classes:
Children's Class (K-4th Grades)
Children learn through imagination and play. Our curriculum provides the space for children’s creativity. Whether your child has grown up in church or is hearing Biblical stories for the first time, they'll find a welcoming environment where faith comes alive. This quarter we will explore prayer through play and wonder, helping families explore spiritual formation together. Teachers: Emily Mooney and Andy Bowers
Youth (5th-12th Grades)
Youth gather to explore their faith through discussions, laughter, and donuts. Conversations revolve around Scripture, prayer, and the teachings of the Episcopal Church, helping students deepen their faith while discovering the joy of God's love and blessings. Whether you're full of questions, looking for new friendships, or wanting to grow closer to God, you'll find a welcoming community where you can belong, be yourself, and grow in faith together. This quarter we will explore the Bible through Biblical storytelling and acting out stories in order to more deeply connect with the text. Teachers: Nancy Steward and Beverly Bradley
Adults
Adults of all ages are welcome to explore faith through the liturgical year. Using the Christian calendar and lectionary as our guide, adults enjoy fellowship, conversation, and prayer to grow in our faith together. Whether you are new to faith or a seasoned adult, you will find thoughtfulness, honest questions, and people eager to grow with you. This quarter we will be invited to read Matthew's gospel from the perspective of Moses as one of the main characters of Israel's History; fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. Teachers: Fr. New Member Class
