Lisa Chronister

Deacon
Deacon Lisa Chronister was ordained in 2012 in the Diocese of New York and has served St. John’s since 2014. Lisa is the Assistant Planning Director for the Oklahoma City Planning Department where she applies her architectural expertise to shape policy, improve development outcomes, and enhance the city’s building environment. As an architect and city planner, Deacon Lisa is especially interested in how the church is called to support the life of cities.  She believes that God calls us to actively engage in our community because it is in serving the community that we are serving God. To this end, she leads St. John’s ministries related to food insecurity, homelessness, and environmental stewardship. She earned architecture degrees from Pratt Institute and the University of Oklahoma, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. Lisa grew up in Fittstown, Oklahoma and has lived most of her adult life in Oklahoma City, with an important time in New York City. She is married to Aaron Mooney, and they have one son, Eli. When she is not devoting time to professional and community service, she can be found traveling, exploring ethnic food, or watching Thunder basketball.
