Candidate for Ordination
Andy Bowers joins St. John’s as a Candidate for Holy Orders in the Diocese of Oklahoma. He has an undergraduate degree in Christian Ministries and a Masters of Divinity from Duke University. Since 2010 he has been teaching students in PreK up through High School and into college. In 2020, he officially started the discernment process to become a priest, although unofficial discernment occurred for years before that. Andy grew up in Oklahoma but has lived in several states (both coasts and in between) pursuing his education and serving as a teacher. Andy and his wife, Vanessa, just celebrated their 25th anniversary, and they have two children, Fletcher (17) and Jo (14). Andy enjoys cooking plant based dishes and cycling together with his wife.
